”The Alchemist” is a book about traveling however, it is the Life the travel takes place through and each human being is an essential part of it. Most of us lost the path showing who we are. Our life often resembles the passengers traveling without the valid tickets, the passengers that are scared of the conductor that might show up any time and check on us. Thus we are not able to enjoy the trip and unexpectedly out trip lasts, our life lasts with the thought that we failed our dreams. Then we wished we had another chance with a hope that things would be better next time. Paulo Coelho shows in his book that each person can achieve his or her dreams; the dreams that we are often afraid to face. Making dreams come true might require from us to undertake the risk and that could change our life drastically. However, these dreams might become our power and believing that they come true makes us stronger. Santiago the main character of the book gained the confidence upon selling the fruits and begins the trip in a search for the treasure. He learns through the many lessons during his adventures that the miracles happen every day however, we often chose to ignore them just to protect from taking a risk. We feel in our hearts what our calling is but we pretend not hear that. On the other hand we recognize very well how unsafe the world is and try to be pleased with own achievements. The Alchemist encourages us to look deeper in our souls and find the path that would lead through the life. The world needs people taking risk, searching for the real meaning of the life and these that follow that path will win. Every day we can experience happiness and make our dreams come true. Santiago, a shepherd boy, who dreams of seeing the world, learned that the travel to his Legend was as important as reaching the goal. We all might be happy and fulfilled our dreams as soon as we realize that doing what we love the most is the real treasure. P. Coelho tries to convince us that God is present in each of us and each time we begin the search for something new is a meeting with him. We all are born the same, with the same chances to experience the best through the life knowing that the heart is our treasure. I would recommend the Alchemist very much. The author already discovered his soul and you could do that as well.
