Mystery in Vatican.
Angels and demons was very recently relased in France though it was
written before The Da
Vinci Code as it was already published in the
United States five years ago !
This novel or let's rather say this thriller uses the same character,
Robert Langdon, an Harvard History professor involved in religious
symbiology. It also uses the same romantic gimmicks and slightly occult
worlds, as sects, untrue mysteries supposedly based on historic facts,
all of it in a set full of art and symbols. Those who loved "Da Vinci
Code" will certainly appreciate this novel which will bring them in a
new original and fascinating adventure. This time, they will follow
Robert Langdon, guided by a ancient manuscript from Galilee's
hand, into the arcades of the Vatican. The Illuminati, a
secret society gathering some scientists who had been persecuted by the
Catholic Church, are in the process to blow off the City of of
the Popes by using a drop of antimatter deposited at St Pierre's
basilica, inside the apostle's sarcophagus.Meanwhile the assembly of
cardinals is forming a conclave in search of a successor for the Pope
who just passed away.Robert Langdon will dispose of only a few hours to
save the Vatican but he will have the support of Vitttoria, a young and
pretty researcher, who will help him to decrypt a series of
archaïc symbols which , after driving him from
churches to ancient roman places, will bring him to the
headquarters of the Illuminatis...
It was not deliberately on purpose that the French editor released this
book in a time troubled with John Paul II ' s decease and the election
of Benoit XVI, his successor.
The book is a good thriller offrering also an historical travel in
modern Rome to the reader who will follow the hero in search of the
Rome of the Renaissance era.
If you enjoy the history of Vatican, Rome, or Italy without any
boredom, this book is made for you to make you so that you can enter
into one of the most secret and mysterious cities in the World: Vatican
itself .
