People always travelled to America. There are rumours that
even on 'My Flower', first european ship with colonists,
there were people with slavic names. Then people
travelled
mostly to earn for bread. In the PRL there was bread,
but
dollars were rare. Authors were lacking of international
fame and they wanted to change that. Almost 40 years
ago,
there were other reasons as well. You have to remember
about
the march 1968. When in 1969 in Hollywood, in Roman
Polanski's willa there was a mass murder in which
Polanski's
pregnent wife, actress Sharon Tate and the 'Coffee
Princess'
Abigail Folger were killed, Polish media only mentioned
that. Krzystof Kąkolewski went there. He reached hippis,
satanists and also usual Americans and that how this
reportage was made. One of the chapters is titled 'In
Monsters Stomach'. This Monster is USA. But it's not the
typical polish dragon from Cracow and not every Pole
will
get away with a sheep filled with sulfur. To know your
enemy
you have to read about those which went there and they
failed.
