Authoress of the work to Write; You must to read and to learn in the university: an introduction to the academic literacy, edited by the Economic Culture Fund (FCE).      In telephonic interview assured that the constant complaints of the university teachers by the "difficulties" that present the students in the texts comprehension, their participation decrease in class, the scarce comprehension of the topics imparted in the classroom and a confusing expression in their writing are only some symptoms of the fact that the university demands "knowledge that it is not teaching, since not enough with which they may have learnt to read and write in the first years of the primary training, since they’re reading and academic writing that demand the university training is not taught in the previous levels".        Indicate that recent investigations question the principle of the fact that exists a "just form of reading and writing that is learnt in the basic education that it is applied to any text and area, since it has been demonstrated that learnt what’s in the basic and mean education not form to the student for the reading and writing practices that demand the university."        The ability from they’re learning to read and write not only it is task of the basic education, but of all the educational levels, since it has been demonstrated that the reading and the writing are social practices and they aren’t knowledge conceptual that are transmitted of once and forever, on the contrary; "there are as many forms of reading and writing as contexts and contents", indicated.       Asserted that it is necessary, "that teachers, educational institutions and responsible governmental instances for the public policies assume their responsibility and it isn’t awarded only to the students, at previous educational level or to the family parents.      "Therefore it is so important that in all the educational levels is integrated in addition to the contents of the different signatures, it’s the learning of the reading and academic writing, since our youths will be able be efficient in the messages managing with help of the new technology, but they aren’t developing the capacity of understanding what read and write in the university level."   SCHOLASTIC FAILURE    Investigations reveal that, it is the lack of ability to develop adequately the reading and academic writing if influences the drop-out scholars’ conditions, lag and repetition in university education.       The difficulties that have the pupils of writing and reading in the first years of the university are a factor that carries them to fail in the exams, to extend their stay in the university or to abandon their studies, recognized.      In the scholastic classroom, most of the teachers find with what the students fail because they’re don’t understand what read and abandon the reading, since require direction and guide of their teachers so that they could persevere in what they don’t understand, because "they don’t know to read and to write of the manner that the university waits and the problem is that the university demands something that it doesn’t teach, what’s converted into an equity problem, since is evaluated to the student so that demonstrate to know an and we do not teach to obtain it.
